Big time corrosion resistance. We use them on subsea equipment.

Is also decreases friction. You may want to check with them if you need to lower the torque from standard non-coated studs.

Hopefully it will last some time then[emoji16]

Checked instructions again today and they didn‘t mention what coat it is and no infos if I should use a different Torque Number.
Instruction says refer to OEM Manual for Torque.

Both frame sides are now ready for paint and I disassembled the steering linkage today. Will repaint the middle piece and then reassemble with the new Parts I got.
Pitman arm, Idler arm and outer Tie Rods are from Proforged, Inner Tie Rods are Stock Replacements. I thought about Tie Rod Sleeves but decided I won‘t need them.
Steering dampener will be replaced with a dual BDS Setup

Called the guy who should overhaul my Turbo today.
He doesn‘t want to do it now because some stupid reasons. Never had an IHI in his hands so mostly he‘s feared..

Chatted with Eric and my Diesel Guy over here on how to install the Wicked Wheel then. Decided to go for the usual route and just slap it on there. Will have that done by the end of the week hopefully..

Also prepped the rear axle for paint today. Removed the axle shafts, E-Brake shoes and so on and installed new Dust Shields.
Then reversed the procedure but left the brake shoes off. Not sure when it will be painted but I hope pretty soon.

Yeah I don't see hardly anyone balance the turbo after swapping the wheel. I would probably do it, but you dont hear of many issues from the guys who don't, so it must not be that big of a deal.

You'll have to post a video of how it sounds. I've never heard one on an LB7 before.

I thought about sending the rotating assembley to the US, get it balanced and then mount it. But that would require some serious turbo teardown and about 600-700€.

If something goes wrong with the unbalanced wheel these 700€ are better spent on a Fleece Cheetah or a similar 64mm Drop In[emoji16]

For sure will get a video! Just need to figure out what Camera/Mic will give me a good result.

If you ever do end up needing or wanting a new turbo, check out Ryan's Diesel Service.

They are top notch as far as I'm concerned. I have their 66mm and love it. They sell both their super core and the whole turbo. The super core comes in a 64mm but their whole turbos are available in a 64mm and a 68mm

I heard of them before, I believe Truckmaster on YT works with them. From the Video they seem like knowledgeable guys there.

What exactly is the difference between a Super Core and the whole thing?
Like the Housing and wheel packages Dans Diesel is selling?

Basically the super core is just the center section and intake side. So you'd reuse the exhaust housing on the stock turbo.

This eliminates the need to swap the wheel and it comes all ready to install and is balanced. Install is just taking the large clamp off the center section, removing the old one, and installing the new one.

The whole thing is an entire brand new turbo. They don't sell reman units for the LB7 turbos so they are all brand new. The LLY-LML they sell both reman and new. I went with a new unit just since I wanted to keep my stock turbo.

Ahhhh yes got it!
I‘d like to get a new one because the new ones should be ported if I‘m correct.

Still thinking of porting my current one, just not sure if it will be a bit too much for my transmission then. And not sure if I habe to take the Turbo apart to port the exhaust side/ uppipe connections.

Yeah the complete turbos they sell are also machined larger on the exhaust side. This is important when planning on taking full advantage of the larger turbo since with a larger impeller side, but a stock exhaust side, drive pressure will go up. Machining out the exhaust side to match and running a larger turbine, it helps keep the drive pressure down.
