Was the truck not already set up for running in Germany?

That looks like mostly surface rust under the windshield...but I would be cleaning it up really good and using some rust converter/stopper and a good primer before installing the new one.

It was setup for Austria. Same same but different.. 95% was already done and the rest depends on the inspection guy. I had one a year ago who only cared for proper DOT/E-Numbers on the Lights, not about the color or any other modification.

Generally all amber marker lights are forbidden to the front of a vehicle under 9000lbs. Since I´m registering for 8999lbs this rule is technically correct. It already had white bulbs in the sidemarker lights because we need them in white... Other law says all lights on a vehicle must be 100% functional, no matter what they are for. General rule for first time registration is to keep it all white, then change and probably never have problems again.

Exhaust must be either straight out the back or angled 45° towards the ground because of pedestrian pollution laws. This doesn´t affect a G-Class :?
I have an eye out for a 5" Magnaflow kit so I´m ok with modding it for the big inspection and then go back to OEM Style.

So I sanded down the rust on the windshield frame and found a spot on the passenger side where the metal was alread damaged and uneven.
Used some tin and sanded it down again. Worked pretty good so we were able to get the windshield mounted

I removed the vinyl decals on the tailgate and cut the exhaust to shape.
Also added the vin to the frame and mounted a certified reverse lamp.

Everything is now ready for the registration process which will hopefully be done this week.

Tow mirrors and Wrap came in and already got two subs for the box.
The box itself should be here in a few days.

The Rollpan showed up but it has a smalm bent edge and some scratches. Nothing major but I filed a complaint and hope to get some money back

Truck is registered since Friday..
drove around 500 miles since and absolutly love it!

Decided to tint the cab lights and a day later a bird hit the one in the middle. No damage but the seal is a bit torn up

Image

Local guy had a ProNet for sale and I grabbed it for $10.
Mounted it, looked ok but not good so I already took it off again. Maybe it will fit better with the rollpan or it will work on the C10.. who knows

Nice looking brush guard!!! Can’t wait to see it on your truck.

I’m in the market for one as well. Can’t decide to go full bumper replacement or just a brush guard.

And the truck is beefy enough that the bumper will compliment the truck.
