Took it in for an alignment after all the front end changes and no alignment needed. Still within tolerance! So that saves some money.

Unfortunately their printer is broken, so maybe I’ll post the numbers next time.

If I was to eyeball it I’d say no. That’s another reason I took it in. But hey, computers.

gustobru's 2010 GMC Sierra All Terrain

I figure I can post my continued sprinkler woes in my own build thread because I use the truck to get the parts and doing this work explains why my build is paused!

My other manifold went out yesterday, so I pieced it together. It’s holding!

The previous owner must have had a problem before:

I’m no plumber but it don’t leak:

Also, I have a family. Pancake challenge:

A couple weeks ago the kids and I used flex tape to see if we could fill the bed of the truck up with water and make a little pool. As predicted, it was still like swiss cheese.

So, I took a couple steps to make it work this time.

This stuff...
Image

Sized so that I can double it over and have it fit well in the bed so the water doesn't pull it down and still have it hang over the sides.

Image

Image

Image

I'm on a hill so I had to level the truck a bit. Here's a video walk around of the setup (you'll need to wait a sec):

Image

As I filled her with water, I monitored the sagging by measuring the same way on just one wheel. She dropped about 3.5 inches before I used the bags to level her up again.

This is the lowest point.

Image

I thought this was funny.. she looks like she's about to break in half. I think the hill and the plastic are playing tricks on our eyes.

Image

Just like a pool..

Image

Image

The water is 16 inches deep, so here's the math:

71,040 cu in water
.0043
305.472 gallons
8.34 lbs in a gallon
2547.63648 lbs

Covered her up for the night so the kids can play tomorrow. Then we'll empty it.. mobile wave pool style...

Genius Bruce, pure genius! Your kiddos must have had a lot of fun and I'll bet the neighbors were pretty envious. If I may ask, what kind of bags do you have on your truck? I'm a late comer to your thread, I can barely function because I'm so tired and beat up, and I don't think that I can handle reading the previous 34 pages here. Also, do you have an on board compressor?

Cheers!

Mike

Hey, Mike. It's a lot of fun. I have the Firestone air bags. I don't have an internal compressor. It hasn't really been that inconvenient to go to my rear licenses plate and pump them up. I know what to run them at for various applications (level, travel trailer, etc). They can run up to 100 lbs of pressure and have a 5k limit each. I still use weight distribution when I pull the travel trailer so that keeps me right around 3400 on the rear axle (that's only 35% the total bag capacity).
