Murphy's law strikes again. It's like the amount of times someone has brought a PC for me to fix, and it works completely fine once I have it....

Hopefully you can actually find out the issue this time.

Okay guys,

The truck came home back on the 8th but it's been a busy couple of weeks.

The transmission guy was just as frustrated as I was and he threw the truck up on the lift and checked the information from the original transfer case repair. Turns out the encoder motor was not replaced when the new transfer case went in so that was where he decided to start. When he unbolted the encoder motor and pulled it off it was rattling in three different places. I can verify this because he set it aside and showed me when I picked it up. Quick O'reilly deliver and a few minutes of labor later he was driving the truck without issue. He drove it for an hour and half this time and then had his guys do the same to verify. Cycled the t-case, drove in all modes, used the cruise...really put it through it paces without issue. I picked it up and drove home. Being the stand-up guy he is he only charged parts for the motor and no labor and refused to take a dime for the first time he had it. The tows I had to get ended up costing more than the repair...

Truck is running great so far *knock on wood* so now it's time to find the damn squeaks I have in the frame and in the cab and maybe pull the cream colored trim off the white doors.

Transfer case has been great so far (knock on wood). Although I do have an intermittent service 4wd that pops up. Also very rare an ABS light comes on and leaves very quickly.

I'm going to post the picture hoping I didn't already put it up but the only other thing I've done is get a tonneau. Can't swing any major mods or an aluminum tri fold right now but I got a good deal on this. It keeps my stuff mostly dry and out of prying eyes so I'm happy. Image

Dang wiring in these trucks. There is a good chance it is a dirty ground wire with Service 4WD or the ABS light on. I already had both of those happen. I cleaned the front factory grounds and 4WD hasn't come back.

I cleaned the factory ground under the driver's door on frame and that cleared the ABS/brake light for a long time but it has started to appear randomly again. I'm kind of wondering if the wire itself is corroded inside, since the way they terminated the wiring on these grounds is open to the elements, corrosion can just travel right up into the wire.

What I've been seeing online supports that. Need to try it I've just been a little lazy lately.

This looks awesome, Connor. Just picked up a 1500HD myself a few months ago, they sure are great.
