Ofblong's 2011 Silverado

Postby ofblong [OP] » Nov 01 2017, 4:26am

I've done quite a bit to this truck but today I installed my retrax. Should of been a 30 min install but took me 1.5 hours because I had to remove my old bull rings and the screws were all stripped n rusted. Got 4 new ones coming. Anyways a couple pics. Yes I did this by myself no help.

Yes I do need to fix the drain routing. Without drilling my Silverado only had 1 drain hole bug enough for the tubes. Since I didn't want to drill I went with some "free" option.

Added wheels, tires and a ready lift front and rear leveling kit. Plus the shock extensions which I seem to be missing that pic.

Stocks are 265/70r17. These are 285/70r17. They would only ship me 10 or 12 ply. So I went with 10.

Just updating thread with other add on I've done. The OP7 LED are something I wish I wouldn't have bought. After 9 months they have started blowing water into the headlight housing, they replaced the 1 that the LED blew but are refusing to replace the one that is blowing water into headlight assembly. The new one doesn't blow water in but is causing severe FM radio interference on a few channels that used to work jist fine. If the FM station is more than an hour away it's highly static.

I do want to add the LED tailgate light (brake, reverse, turn signals? LED lighting for the bed (need to do some more research but right now boogey lights seems like it will be my choice) and some weather seal for the tailgate. I'm sure I'll want to do more later. Oh I did buy some bullydog D rings because of having to drill out the old ones. Will get pics of those when I get installed.

Redid the drain line for the retrax pro cover. Cleaned it up and silicone the port connections under the canister as water was just leaking past the rubber grommets. Yes I T the drain because GM only put 1 drain big enough for these tubes and I don't want to drill the bed.

Yes I torqued the 4 nuts to 70 ft lbs GM recommends.

You can kind of see the lower spacer for the front leveling kit. The upper spacer is hidden.

Are you from the Otsego area? Your screen name sticks out to me from another forum( Michiganreefers). Years back I met a guy with your screen name and a few of us rode to Detroit and Lansing going to a bunch of saltwater fish stores. I'm the guy from Coldwater and rode the black and orange sport bike.

Yes, LED lighting in the Bed, LED taillight. Other than that nothing until it becomes my daughters or I turn it into a Sand Dune toy.

Adding raptor liner to the outside. Wish i would of read directions. 72 hours before it can get wet. I have to use it in 48 hours (75 degrees during that time) and it is supposed to be raining.

This is my first time trying something like this. Decided even though it will look weird I am going to do the tailgate another day.

I'm really interested to see how that Raptor Liner turns out.

I thought your truck looked good before. What's the reason that you are putting it on for?
