PROJ3CT STORMTROOPER

Postby FightinTexasAggie [OP] » Jun 13 2017, 10:49pm

Well I done gone and traded in the old LBZ. 3 years of driving it like I stole it led to the transmission needing a rebuild and I didn't want to spend that $$$ on a truck with 160k even though I know LBZ's are the godsend duramax. I picked up this beauty, 1 owner with 80k miles for 31,500. It's a 2015.5 CrewCab 4x4 STD bed. So far I love the truck. My plans are to buy a bumper with fog lights, color match bumper, grille, etc. Levelling it with 2" drop shackles (already go those in). Once power train warranty is up, tune and delete with PPEI EZ lynk with tcm tuning. Also considering just painting wheels black myself until I need new tires (has brand new Goodyear trail wranglers). I have always wanted white truck with black wheels. Also truck has a nice touchscreen pioneer head unit, going to install the subs out of my LBZ, just need to buy a new sub box and wiring kit. First thing I did was remove all the dealer labeling, install my tool box, and remove ugly steps.

2" drop shackles installed. Color matched mirror caps. Got a bumper with fog lights. Now just need to wrap bumpers and grill!

That looks about 1,000,000,000% better without the grille guard!

Looks good man. I wouldn't paint your wheels though, I'd go with new wheels for your current tires and then upsize tires when you need em. Unless you want to change wheel size when you need new tires. Needs a bit of poke ;)

What affect, if any, would those drop shackles have on payload and towing?

None. Other than it decreases the amount of weight you can put in the bed before the fender tub hits the tire, lol
