did a little frame painting today. why can't Chevrolet pull their heads out of their ass and do something different with these frames? It's been a pretty consistent issue for years........

Just going through pics of my truck when it had the black mirror caps on it. YUCK! I can't believe how much better it looks with the color match. I need to get exhaust soon. The quiet is driving me nuts. This cabin project is bleeding me dry so the truck suffers.

Well one of my airbags started leaking. Airlift is hooking me up with new ones. I also upgraded to the stainless hardware. I'll get some pics when I install them.

How did I manage this? Cognito hit the new drop brackets in the lift?! The only thing I can think of is that I did this when I installed it. Moved it out of the way to do something. That's an awful long way to go it would seem to hit that. Eric what do you think? You're running the cognitos with the CST.

Also the damage is not mirrored on the other side. What should I do to fix this? All salty up here. Need to take care of it.

Hmm. That's odd. I doubt the suspension would allow the uca to travel that far up before other parts would limit it first.

As far as fixing it, I'd file and sand down the gouge and paint it up with some gloss black.

I haven't had any issues running my cognitos with the lift.

I really got a chance to work the suspension back when I went to the outer banks out on the beach when I went exploring back in the neighborhoods in carova, but I didn't notice anything like you have there on mine. And I'm pretty sure I got close to full up travel a few times haha.

Judging by how yours looks, the uca would really need to be at a steep upward angle and hit the bracket pretty hard to do that since neither the control arm nor the bracket are thin metal.

But I would definitely think other parts would limit the travel before that would hit.

Yeah it’s a pretty good dent. Can’t imagine how I did it. My truck is a pavement queen

Well I got my painting on the frame done today as well as my lift kit drop bracket and UCA.. I removed my air bags too since one of them was leaking. I have the new ones waiting to install but of course the old ones were rusted to the brackets so I needed to order new brackets. The stainless upgrade will solve that problem. I'll put my air bag spacers in while I'm at it. So without the airbags in the rear of my truck sits 3/4 of an inch low in the back compared to the front. I have an add a leaf sitting in the garage I didn't use yet so my question is, should I add that while I"m at it and only use the bags for when I have big loads or just reinstall the bags (I"m going to regardless) and just keep using them to get the extra 3/4"? I think from what I've read is that the add a leaf will get me 1.5 inches. I don't particularly want that much........ I know I could get 2 inch blocks and then toss the add a leaf in but I'd still be 1/4 inch low and I'll have to use the bags anyways.

One other question? Do you guys have any good pictures of what you did with the rear brake lines for the 4.5 CST lift? It was a bit confusing and I never did anything with them during my prior 3.5 rough country..... I don't seem to have any issues.
