ive been trying to test my maf sensor on my truck. they say test the three wires of the connecter, one is power (it reads 12 volt, second wire ground, and third wire is signal wire. ( but it has a steady 5 volts when the key is on but the sensor is not connected) Is this right or is my wires shorted out. please help me . i need my truck running.
the wire with % volts is the signal wire, I thought it was to send voltage back out of the sensor, but if I test the wire not connected to the sensor it has 5 Volts already flowing through the signal wire without being hooked up. Shouldn't the MAF sensor be putting out the voltage?
Are you checking relative to ground or between the wires?
