Hello..

I bought an AFR gauge to have an idea if the engine runs OK..

I have to connect it to the oxygen sensor.
I see four wires on each sensor, 2 white, a grey and a black..

does these sensor have a heater inside, or is it just a high and low signal...

grtz, D

You can connect a gauge to a factory narrowband sensor, however the data it provides you will be useless as all the gauge will do is cycle back and forth during normal driving.

I'd send that back and pick up something like the AEM wideband kits that run ~$200. They come with a proper wideband sensor that will give you a real idea of what's going on with your mixture.

Nearly all four wire automotive oxygen sensors are:

White/white: Heater circuit, resistor, doesn't matter how it's hooked up
Grey: Ground
Black: Signal

I'm telling you, unless you just really like staring at a gauge bouncing around on your dash, hooking a gauge to a narrowband isn't providing you any useful information and you're wasting your money. Just my $0.02.
