Mistakenly I thought my 2011 Sierra 1500/4x4 a G80

Hi everyone
Several months ago, I changed front and rear diff fluids. I was under the impression my truck is a G80 and therefore I didn't add limited slim axle lubricant additive. I ran almost 1000 miles since then.
Yesterday I checked the sticker in gloves compartment and I didn't find the G80 code.
My questions:
1) Should I add the limited slim axle lubricant additive now?
2) I would like to add to my rear diff a diff-lock (G80). Is it an add-on or I have to change the entire axle?

English is not my first language and I am not expert in car's mechanics. Thus I will appreciate simple, but detailed explanations

Cheers

1.) Open diff doesn't require limited slip additive.

2.) Sure, dealer can install the Eaton locker, however it's expensive and install is extensive and best done by a pro.

Would you please look to the attached code and see if the truck is open diff?

Yes, GU6 RPO is open diff with 3.42 gears.

Thank you. I may buy used one and have it installed by pro.

Good call. G80 option is handy and I've utilized it many times. There are some other great lockers, but I like how the factory Eaton locker automatically engages rather than manual operation. A plus for the Z71 and HD's alike.

Any suggestion for the G80 option suitable for the Sierra 1500?

You can buy the setup online, just Google search it. eBay has 'em. Contact your dealer or shop and check some install costs. If I had to guess you'd probably spend near or over $500 for the complete setup w/install. I can't be for sure though, just a shot in the dark. Once you get it done, post up your findings. Good luck, Nawwaf.
