Intake manifold part

Intake manifold part

Postby mprblue [OP] » Jul 18 2020, 11:40am

1996 GMC 4.3. The fitting on the manifold that the PCV hose attaches to is broken. It appears that you rotate it slightly and it lifts out. My concern is breaking the intake manifold when removing the part. Is there a technique to turning it for removal(pressing down?) Also what is the description and GM part number. Not having any luck with parts stores.

Dorman PCV Valve Cover

The part is not available from GM. This is the Dorman part that my local GM parts guy referred me to. I am leary of removing the old one because of the possibility of breaking the intake manifold(plastic). Any tips on how to get the old one out?

I would be glad to report that the problem is solved if someone would tell me how to remove the old part without breaking manifold.

The part came off with no problem. Turned to the left and pulled it up.
