2011 Silverado code P0300 code

Postby whosgreg [OP] » Sep 09 2016, 1:26am

First code showed cylinder #1 misfires. Pulled the plug and it was full of gunk. The other plugs were clean. Replaced all the plugs. Then, this code P0300 shows up which indicates that there were too many random cylinder misfires. The suggestion it gave was to "perform crankshaft position relearn procedure." Another problem popped up was this message under the mph indicator stating that stabilitrak and traction control are off and needs service.

Any suggestion please.

Do you have any oil loss between oil changes. Plug #1 and #7 are commonly affected plugs with AFM problems.

Did the P0300 code go away after you changed the plug. If so, it is likely the plug was just so gunked up that it was only able to fire randomly.

I suppose the ST/TC issue could be related some how to the misfire issue, but I don't know how.

Only on #1. Code still showing the same after replacing the plugs. Engine performance got worse. Message said to perform crankshaft position relearn procedure. I have no idea how.

Fix the misfire and the other lights will go out. Multiple manufactures are now turning on multiple "lights" for engine/ catalyst damaging drivability issues. I guess its their way of saying " hey dude, there is a problem here, most people don't care about one light, that must be the gas cap, so I'll turn on three lights now "
