Did you change the oil filter too? Did you start the truck and let it idle for like 10 secs turn it off wait couple minutes and check it again?

you didnt get all of it out when draining is the only solution it holds 6 quarts I promise.

How long did you keep the drain plug out for. I like to let mine run till it drips.

I changed it a week ago. I changed filter and all like you are supposed to. I thought it was strange after I changed it and did like mentioned above... Turned it on let idle and checked again. This happened last time I changed it too. Last time I added 5 quarts and it was perfectly full to the top of the hatch mark, added another and it looked like this. I know I'm getting all the old oil out because I wait a good 30 minutes to make sure it has drained properly.

plus i know I'm getting all the old oil out because after a week the oil would look dark again after mixing with old oil and it still looks new.

I drive my right front tire up on a ramp to set the truck at a pretty good angle to make sure it can all drain out.

So the oil is up to the 2nd zero on the dip stick which looks like it equates to about 1/2 a quart or so. Is it really even an issue to where I should go out in the am and attempt draining some?

It is a little hard to tell with new oil. But you have to go by the point on the dipstick where it is completely covered in oil. Oil will always get on the dip stick as you pull it out, but you look for the point where you can tell the dip stick was fully immersed in oil. Sometimes it is actually easier to see that point on the back side of the dipstick.
