LM7 to L33

Postby Bowtieordie [OP] » Jan 19 2017, 3:54am

Hey guys, I am new to this Forum and had a question. The engine in my '04 Silverado has started knocking and I found a decent deal on an L33 5.3L, my question is would this swap be plug and play? If not what kind of things would I need to do to make this work? I know the mounts/manifolds should be the same, I'm mostly asking about sensors and what not.

. Camshaft and heads are different. It also has flat top pistons for higher compression ratio. Does it come with the wiring harness and pcm ??????

It is a complete drop out comes with everything: PCM, sensors, wiring, and all of the accessory drives.

Had some extra time today, and thought I would update this thread with what I have discovered for people that are thinking of doing this swap. As James Dean said they have different heads and a different camshaft as well as flat top pistons, different block, bigger injectors, and the connecting rods are different as well. As far as the electronics go it was actually plug and play for my old harness and PCM, I did have to change the oil pressure sensor but I'm pretty sure it was just bad. One thing to note is you will have problems with your transmission if it has a lot of miles on it. Mine Had 183,000 and it started slipping really bad after the swap.
