2006 2500hd 6.0L fuel problem??

Postby HdChevy18 [OP] » Mar 27 2013, 2:14am

I got a chevy 2500hd 6.0L with 250,000km on it, when im at a 1/4 tank of fuel or less it starts to lean out and miss fire under load around 2400 rpm, not sure what could cause it but seems to me like a fuel pump issue. Anyone have similar issues?

I think you answered your own question ;). Have you tested the fuel pressure yet?

I'd say it's either a problem with the sender (reading higher than the fuel level is and you are about empty) or the pump is bad and overheating when the fuel level drops, which causes it not to pump the right amount or pressure of fuel.

My fuel range is around normal if im on the highway, thats why im leaning towards the fuel pump failing.

If you decide to replace it, be sure to ujse an AC Delco pump. They can be found pretty cheap at www.amazon.com .
