2017 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0L - NO POWER

2017 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0L - NO POWER

Postby ETXChevy [OP] » Jul 10 2017, 2:26am

I would like some input and advice.

I recently bought a new 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500HD 6.0L 4x4 Z71.
It has no get up and go to it !!
I am wondering if I got a lemon or if it is normal for this truck.
When you gas on it, it revs up but doesnt take off like I would think it should.

Do I need to make some modifications to it ? Tuner, Intake, Exhaust ect.
Any help would be appreciated ....

maybe test a test drive of another truck at a dealer, and see if it's the same.

From my experiences the 2500 6.0 doesn't have a lot of seat of the pants get up and go.

Can you get a video of the speedometer while flooring it from a stop, your definition of No Power may be different than mine.

My work has a 2013 Extended Cab 2500 and it seems to have good power. It will spin the tires from a stop when flooring it. It wont win any races but gets up and goes.

4.10 gear is standard, but 3.73 is optional on the gassers, current body style. Mine is no hot rod, but has some pretty good get up, considering how heavy it is.

Gotta say I am pleased with the GUaG with my 2012 6.0 2500, 4x4 with the 3:73 half throttle off the line has a good push back in the seat, full or three quarter mash and it snaps your head. When i originally test drove it I jumped on it just as we got off the lot and I was pleased, I commented that it must have the 4:10s.
Now with that being said, I was not happy with initial fuel mileage and took it to the dealer for the free oil change and commented about the mileage, they did a complete engine diagnosis and gave me a print out of the findings, fuel pressure was at the top limit. Dealer said he could turn it down, I would get better mileage but loose towing and hauling power.
We left it alone! I would suggest a trip to your dealer and you express your concerns before you start shelling out money first.
