My 2004 6.0L 2500 every once in a while will let out some "oil smoke" out the tail pipe on start-up & then quit smoking right away & run fine. It has about 160,xxx miles on it. It doesn't do this very often, but I'm just wondering what would cause it to do this? It doesn't seem to be using any oil & it runs fine. No odd noises when running & no smoke going down the road. Just the little bit of smoke at start-up. & it has only done this a handful of times ever. I'm just looking for information on why it would be doing this now when it has never done it before. any info would be greatly appreciated. I use Amsoil synthetic in it & change the filter every 3,000 miles, & change the oil about every 24,000 miles.
