Exhaust manifold bolts

Exhaust manifold bolts

Postby Stss95 [OP] » May 03 2021, 9:28pm

My 04 has 72k on it when I got it last year it didn’t have any broken exhaust manifold bolts now I see it has one. Am I better off changing all the bolts now before more start breaking or am I better off just leaving it alone? Are there upgraded bolts that won’t break?

Buy Metric 10.9 grade, which is high strength material.

Definitely replace now while they still have bolt heads on them. Also there are probably 100's of threads on this subject, it's verrrry common, search around and you will find plenty of info. I replaced mine with studs/nuts, seems to be working fine. If ARP makes a set, they will probably never break again (but costly).

ARPs exhaust manifold bolts are $30 well spent imo

Also you don't really neeeeed to, unless you are throwing codes
