So i put in a K&N intake that i picked up for cheap.

Everything hooked up great and it works really well.

EXCEPT: The intake I have doesn't have a hole for a hose/sensor/thing that was hooked up to the stock intake.

I believe it's something like a PCV valvle or Crank Case Exhaust hose.

Anyone know for sure what the heck it is?

Also, will it hurt anything if just plug it or throw one of those tiny filters onto it?

Truck is running great with it just zip tied down for the moment.

DING DING I FOUND MY OWN ANSWER!!

For those who don't know or for those who are interested.

This is what i was talking about and it hooks into your stock intake.



It is a Crank Case exhaust hose. Some aftermarket intakes have spaces made in them so you can plug them in. However, It is unnecessary to do so. Your intake will actually stay cleaner with this not hooked up to it.

It does serve an important function and should NOT I REPEAT NOT be plugged up.

Two options for dealing with these little suckers.

1. Put a filter on it.

The filter is the quickest easiest route but you need to change the filter every 5-6 months and wipe down the area around it as it will become a little dirty thanks to residue.


2. Put a catch can on it.

The catch can catches the excess GUNK and oil from the crankcase and eliminates any form of mess. Plus looks a little cooler as most places have colored ones to match your vehicle.
