No idea about a phone, I don't use a phone to browse internet forums, I use a genuine computer with that Windows 10 thing on it. Tried it in IE, Edge and Chrome and all do the same thing with captcha coming up on all 3 when quoting that post.

You win...lol I just tried to quote that post on my Windows 7 work PC, running Opera 43.0, and indeed I got the captcha prompt this time...

I'm guessing it's something all of the AG sites do for longer posts, mistaking a human input, for some crappy code that a hacker/spammer is trying to post..

It only goes so far though, as a well-skilled coder with intent, can get past those tests pretty easily...That's the 3rd version of the it, and all 3 were broken within a few months...

Re: Attention - Chat module disabled

Postby plant.one » Oct 03 2019, 5:55pm

i was having the same problem a couple weeks ago - extremely frustrating when it happens.

recaptcha is killing me

as noted by others, it was a LONG post, with some quoting, and multiple images and such.

i havent had any issues since then, but most of my posts have been relatively short - which is when i wouldnt mind as much.

when you spend a >30 mins crafting a post, searching for images to add relevance to the post, making sure its readable (nice and concise , proper paragraph spacing) , no typos, etc...... to get **** on by a captcha killing your content sucks.

i never was able to post the content i spent the time and enegry making up. i did eventually post a couple smaller content posts on the thread and shared the basic info i was going for - but having to abandon your work because of a stupid anti-bot filter is disheartening to say the least.

Admin wrote:Hi all,

Just a heads up to let you know that we've disabled the chat module on the site as we noticed it was failing to run correctly. We're currently working on a fix and will update you guys as soon as we know more.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

They say they're sorry. I say you are lazy or incompetent.

We're coming up on 2 months of AutoGuide collecting paychecks to do absolutely nothing about a key function on our website.

Maybe when advertisers post, we should say negative things or tell them that we've started a boycott until the Admins fix chat. Maybe then they'll get with it.

Things like:
Is your stuff made in China?
What about those crappy reviews?

And I bet this one will work best:

Sorry, we appreciate you posting about discounts and new products available, but all of our purchases from advertisers are on hold until this site fixes the "Chat module." Will you help us explain to Admin that we really want it back?
