2019 wheels/tpms sensors on a 2009

Postby simmersm [OP] » Feb 13 2020, 10:19pm

Can some body please tell me if the TPMS sensors that are on a 2019 will work with a 2009?

I bought a set of new take offs but cant get the tpms system to recognize the sensors in the new wheels.

I have tried with the EL-50488 Orange Electronics tool as well as trying to let air out... and yes, I was in tire relearn mode.

Thanks

I don’t think they will work. I was going to put my 2016 wheels on my new 2020 and Discount Tire said the the 2020 was different. 2019 is probably the same.

I thought that there was a mix of frequencies on earlier models to...but found a site showing this:

Type of TPMS frequency:
315 MHz, years 2004-2018
433 MHz, years 2020
2019 models use both 315 MHz and 433 MHz frequencies

There is an RPO code that tells you what frequency you have. And you need to match that.

XL7 RPO = 315
XL8 RPO = 433
