275/70 R18s

275/70 R18s

Postby Scrat00 [OP] » Oct 09 2019, 4:22pm

My dad has some 275/70 R18s in the garage that he is not using, I would like to put them on my truck but they are not going to fit on a stock truck. Would a 2" leveling kit be enough to fit them or should I be looking into an actual lift? I would be nice just to have to get a $50 RC kit instead of $1000 kit.

What model truck do you have? What size stock tires do you have?

Play around with sizes on this site:

that's a 33", and if your info is correct it will fit on you 2012 with a 2" rc level kit, minor plastic trimming (or ziptie out of the way).

I ran a 285/70r17 on a 2" level no rub also a 33"

There will be slight variations depending on what brand but it will not rub so bad that you cant run them.

side note: Parked beside a 2007-2013 Silverado a few days ago that had (no joke) 37s on the 17" rim with just a 2" level.. you could see where he rubbed everything and im sure his turning radius was awful but I guess it worked for him.

Was not expecting a quick response.

I have the NNBS silverado. The stock tires are 265/65 R18.

Would running a small negative offset be an issue? I have been looking for some wheels that give a little bit of poke. -12mm looks really good

yes then you would need like a 4" min lift to fit that tire

What little research I did on it so far, I only found one truck that has that setup I am talking about

https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel ... veling-kit

The post does not specify how much of a leveling kit, but from the looks of it ReadyLift has a 2.25" leveling kit for that year truck.

So I don't know if that guy did something else to his truck to fit that or not, but it seems like it would work.

Don't quote me but I think "Slight rub at full turn" is an option from a drop down menu.. take it with a grain of salt

everyones opinion of slight rub may be different

im running 276/65/18's on stock rims with a 2" level. there's all kind of clearance.

your 275/70's are 1" taller, based on what i'm seeing with the clearance on my truck you should be in good shape witth a level since they're not a wider tire

I've run 275/70s with a 1.25" wheel spacers on 2" of level. They rubbed a little bit, but not bad. I did end up doing a little trimming/NorCal mod and I've been in good shape since.
