Lookin for new tire/wheel options

Lookin for new tire/wheel options

Postby hindsy [OP] » Sep 15 2020, 1:22am

My 2004 Chevy 2500HD Is pretty rough and in need of some TLC... I'm looking for advice on wheel and tire options that will fit without doin any type of lift. Truck is stock height I believe. I am going to be doing a bunch of body work to the truck getting new fenders and what not. I'd like to keep the tires and wheels I have on it as my winter runners and get something a little nicer to run in the warmer weather. Thanks ahead of time. Heres a pic of the truck now.

Picture is blurry, but are those cab corners gone?
Since winter is coming I'd worry about getting all your body work completed....you have really until spring now to decide what wheel/tire combination you really want!

I've got them on order. They are painted black so you can't quite see em. front fenders have started to rust through, I've had it oiled up so hopefully we will postpone the rusting away... lol

Do yourself a favor and pull-up the carpet and inspect the floor before you commit to doing body work. My '00 Silverado's rockers were bad. I pulled back the carpet and the floor was already too far gone. I sold the truck.

Floors are still in good shape at least this last spring. It was dad's truck so I've already made my mind up to fix whatever I need to in order to keep it. He passed away a few years back so its got some sentimenal value.

Are you wanting a larger tire than stock, or as big as possible, or?

Oh man, I completely understand that. Good luck with the truck. Keep us posted on your progress.

you should be able to run a 285 75 16 on that without issue. I always liked the bfg ko2. that's what I ran on my 01 suburban with a 2 inch lift

Michelin MS truck tires. M = mud s = snow. Should last you 80k. Quiet and very good snow traction.
