New Truck with lift and Tire Rims tire rub :-(

New Truck with lift and Tire Rims tire rub :-(

Postby 1Insane_rado [OP] » Aug 07 2015, 1:57pm

Just bought a new to me 2012 Chevy Silverado with a Rouge Country 7.5" lift and Black XD Rims (which I don't really like) and 35" Tires I'm getting tire rub on the inside liner and I can't pull into a simple parking spot. I'm thinking either the rims are too wide or the backspacing/offset is off.

Welcome to the site. That is a very nice truck, but I hear you on the XDs. They are boring IMO, but they shouldn't too hard to sell as lot so people do love them.

Do you know the wheel specs? You could swap wheels to something fits better, and possibly do a mini-NorCal mod to make them clear..

Welcome! Definitely a fixable thing - just have to do a little trimming, or pull the plastic back from your fender liners and beat/cut back the metal to gain a little clearance. Pretty normal thing on this body style. You can do a search for the NorCal Nick mod - easy peasy

The answer to your question is yes, but it depends on what wheel offset you go with. If you're rubbing a 35x12.50 on 7.5" of lift I'd imagine your running the 20x10 -24 offset. If you wanted to stay on a x10 you could sneak down to a 0 to -12 offset and prob not rub.
