Get a MagicMount for $15 at WalMart. These things are awesome with very minimal change to your phone.

So according to my amazon search these 2 mounts are the same thing?? The walmart one goes under a different name and is 5 buck cheaper than the Scoshe one on amazon. Can anyone confirm.?
Scoshe : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I608BJ8/ref ... 4TYWAPE6GP

They look the same to me. I got mine at Walmart and my buddy got his off of Amazon after he saw mine. Ours were both the same.

I got mine from Walmart because it is easy to return things. When I first heard about them I was skeptical whether they worked or was just hype. These things rock. I have actually bought 2 more (wife and daughters car).

I keep mine in my pocket or lunch pail and from what I see on the road 99% of the people who are using the phone while driving should be doing the same thing. It is illegal in most states to text and some states to even use the phone while driving.

I picked up a couple of these the other day. I am very pleased. The best place for visibility and non-interference with other controls was on top of the dash to the right of the cluster hump. Without the phone on it, it is clear you stuck something on your dash. With the phone on it, you have a fantastic hands free and holding spot along with ideal location for viewing directions using google maps. Very easy to grab and or flip to portrait set up. I am glad I ran across your recommendation and got these. Put one in my wifes car also and she liked it as well.

Hawaii might have the strictest laws in regards to handheld electronic devices while driving. I was pulled over for holding my phone in my left hand (I'm right handed), while stopped at a stop light. I was informed the law clearly states that you shall not hold any electronic device while operating a motor vehicle. He even went onto tell me it was illegal to hold the phone to listen to directions, or to even change a song. He was actually really cool about all of it (even though it was a sting operation, with one plain clothes officer standing at the corner of the stop light and 5-6 officers down the road standing in the street pointing cars into the parking lot). I asked about douche bags and their e-cigs. E-cigs are an electronic device and should be considered as such according the HI laws.

Here is the Scosche magic mount from WalMart I installed on the dash. At first I was not thrilled about putting it there because of wanting to keep clean dash lines and not stick anything to the dash...but there was no other good spots that are visible for it on the dash. I wanted to be able to see it clearly when using the google maps navigation. That is what I use the most. After doing this, I am thrilled with the product and where I put it. I also installed one on my wife's car and she loves it too. There is a little bit of vibration. Not so much the product's fault...the dash material is soft and flexes slightly. I love the ability to just place it up there without much thought of clamps or alignment...and the magnet grabs it well. And if you do need to grab it off it is very easy to do...just grab and pull.

Good deal. There are more expensive solutions out there but this one works extremely well for what I need. The fact that there is no cradle or big modification required to my phone makes it a no brainier. The magnetic mount truly is Magic and works like advertised.

Wait until it gets warm and the mound pulls lose from the dash. At least that was my experience with the Scosche product and I prepped the dash before I installed it with rubbing alcohol to ensure a clean surface. It also depends on the size and weight of your phone. It might work with smaller devices, but the size and weight of my Galaxy Note 4 was too much for the Scosche mount to handle.
