Hello... i have a 05 silverado with a 4.8l auto trans 137k mile... I have a real bad power loss on take off and if i have the truck in ANY gear with the brake on it starts to knock like a diesel REAL bad but only in gear! In nuetrel or park you could rev it as high as u want and it goes through smooth and clean...no check engine lights untill now a p0449 evap code that i think is a seperate deal? I have changed the knock sensors spark plugs and crank sensor..... Still stuck with the same problem, has anyone seen this or know whats going on here? THANK YOU!

It could be a problem with the transmission or the torque converter clutch. The clutch my be staying locked up, causing your problems. It could be a bad converter itself, or the solenoid/electrical system that diverts fluid pressure to it to apply it. Have someone with a diagnostic scanner test for transmission codes. Sometimes the code readers will not read the transmission codes.

No check engine light and when we ran a scanner it only came up with a reading of possible bad crank sensor...

Usually when the crank sensor goes bad it just quits running. Are you sure its not saying to relearn the crank position variation? Not sure exactly how its done or if it would even help, would have to do some research.
