Looks good, like something I want to do. What size engine, and is that the standard cover that came on the engine? It's nothing like the one on my 06 5.3 GMC.

 

It is the 5.3, and it is the factory cover. I would suspect that it looks different because of the body style switch in 2007-13. My 2014 engine covers look different than those too.

^^^Thanks. In the past I have almost always been disappointed by "professional" shops so I started learning how to do things myself and it has just exploded into every aspect of my life.

Anyone know how this later model cover attaches to an earlier model 1500? Say an 06? Doesn't look like it bolts to the same mounting points as my 06, but would like this type of cover on my engine for painting.

 

No, intake manifolds different. But the ones off a Escalade work.

Did Escalades come with a 5.3? I thought they had the 6k series engine. If they do only come with the 6k series engine, are you saying the 3 piece cover off the Escalade will fit onto the 5.3? And what years Escalade would we be talking about?

Heres mine. It's on my 06 but it fit bc I put the trailblazer ss intake manifold swap on it so the nnbs engine cover works. Just had to trim it a lil.

 

So I finally got around to getting the Escalade engine covers. When I bought the truck from a friend it had an S&B cold air intake and they offer an upgrade at a very reasonable cost so I did that and painted that and some other widgets under the hood. I'm afraid the radiator cover may of been too much though. What do you think?

Wow...2.5 years later! haha. That is a lot of red...but honestly it does not look to bad to me. Did you sand that radiator cover smooth first? looks smooth in the pic.
