Hey guys, new to the forum.

looking for the best viable Apple CarPlay option for a large screen display in my 09 Sierra.
Was leaning towards pulling the trigger on the Alpine iLX-W650.
Would love to hear some feedback on what you all think has the best Apple car play functionality. Thanks in advance!

I have the ilxw650 in my '04 sierra, and it works good. I was going to buy another one for my '12 3500, but Alpine wants stupid money for what is now an old HU, and it doesn't support wireless carplay if you want that. I used a harness adapter to connect it up to the truck, and reused a Pioneer backup camera setup.

I got a Eonon Q80Pro for the '12, easy plugnplay install, cheap, but has a crappy ui. Also came with a cheap backup camera (one of their "free addons"), it uses some sensor that can't be on for more than a couple of minutes.

I wonder if you can download the XM app on the head unit and listen to XM that way.

Worst option: Pioneer anything.

They wont stand behind their product. Bought the DMH-1770NEX and it worked good for a year and now its going haywire. Looked on internet and a lot are having issues with the solders internally on these units after about a year. Other say Pioneer will charge $30 plus me pay shipping just to fix it. So what $60 to have a $300 radio fixed when its a manufacturer problem. Well I have yet to hear from them in almost a week on what to do with this paper weight.
