2" Lowering Shackles

I just recently purchased a 2012 GMC Sierra SLE with 27,000 miles. The back is noticeably higher than the front. I want to get a more leveled look so I was planning on purchasing some 2" Belltech Lowering Shackles. I was wondering would this change the way the truck rides? The ride is real smooth and didn't want to mess that up.

Let me get this straight...you want to purposely "lower" your truck? I got nothin'.

Wayne or Zachery should have an answer for you. Both of these gentlemen have lowered regular cab trucks, but I suppose if their trucks ride smooth (being shorter in length) then your longer wheel based truck should be just fine as long as you aren't considering changing the tire profile.

Shackles won't affect your ride, 2 inchs will have the front a tad higher, some people are into that bull dog stance. I Installed and adjustable flip kit, my feels like stock until I bottom out haha. I toke out my rear block first and it sat a little higher in the back like and inch higher which is what I'm looking for.

I'm actually just wanting to level it. I called a local rim shop and they are going to take care of it. He also told me the ride won't change. I ended up talking to someone who had the exact same thing done to his 2010 and he had no complaints. For $100 parts and labor I'll let them do it instead of me trying and like he said not tourquing the bolts to the right specs. Thanks for all the replies.

As already stated they won't affect ride at all. I dropped my truck with the belltech adjustable front strut and the rear shackles and block removal. truck handles a lot better than stock. You could also consider a Hellwig rear sway bar, it dramatically improves the handling and feel of the truck. There are several topics about them if you search.

Thanks for all the info. I will take my truck in and tell them I want it sitting level and also have them adjust the lights. They specialize in this type of work and trust the source who told me he gets all his work done there. I plan on getting a boat by summer time but it will be an aluminum hull and most of the weight will be towards the back of the boat so I think I will be fine with hauling it. Other than that I won't be putting anything else on the back. One last thing I will also be adding some 22" Texas Edition Replicas with 305/40/22.
