2015 Tow mirror disassembly

I am trying to change the chrome top and bottom on my tow mirrors. I already have the black replacement parts.

I have watched a few Youtube videos and getting the top mirror off is not an issue. To get to the 4 torx screws to get the mirror housing apart (and thus the two chrome pieces), I need to remove the lower mirror. One youtube video tells you to pull up and "pop" it off. Another link here said not to...because it will break.

Does anyone have any other information on getting that lower mirror off?

Thanks!

Well, I didn't have to break anything.

The bottom mirrors come off if you release the top clip on the mirror. Push it all the way down and you can see the top clip. Pop that with a small screwdriver and then pull it out slightly so you can then pop the side clips.

Had the mirrors done in about 20 minutes...both sides.

But thanks for that sweet GM procedure...and the 14 years bad luck that would come with it! :D
