Have a new 2023 Silverado 1500, radio has gone bad. Was replaced by the dealership once before. Stiil stops working. Can see what's on the screen but radio volume or other features will not work.

I have a co-worker who has the 2023 sierra, same issue with his radio.

Anyone out there having this issue. Seems GMC/Chevy isn't doing anything to fix this.

Thank you.

My truck is a new 2023, as much as I would like to fix it myself; rooting around in the electrical like that would likely void the warranty on a new $61k truck. This is a manufacturer wide issue across a lot of different vehicle models (Chevy and GM). I'm guessing if they don't fix this soon, it will result in a class action lawsuit. I talked to a retired GM employee who blamed the 3rd party supplier of the radio console. Reality is that it is GM that installed the product, it is GM's responsibility to fix it in a timely manner. GM hasn't even addressed it to the consumer audience.

Because the vehicle is new, I can't try and fix it myself. Will likely void the warranty.

Thank you.

I’m having the same issue on my 2 month old 2023 Z71 Trail Boss. I took it in today and they won’t even see it until 10 days from now. That was another discussion because they wanted me to leave it there for 10 days before they could see it. Anyways, I talked to my sale rep and he said that they never heard about such issue. I told him to get online because several Irene are talking about it. Waiting to hear back from them.

Take it back everytime it happens and they will eventually fix it or find the issue when they get tired of you coming in

I’ve noticed it a couple times on my new 2023 as well. Also just got prompted For my first u and after allowing it to start watched it try to verify for a few minutes then it threw and update failed message and said vehicle will turn off. Hopefully they get some of the tech sorted Soon with updates the vehicle will actually process.

If they can't fix it in three tries, they get to buy it back under the lemon laws. Or something to that effect. Take it in, document it is the same issue, and reach out to corporate GM.

But seems this is a widespread issue on those truck from a search I did not long ago. So I suspect they have folks working on the issue. It just takes time.

Looks at all the comments of others having the same issue. This may be slightly different than yours, but shows they have issues.

I have a 2023 Sierra SLT. Same issues . I have gone ot the dealership 2 times and still no fix . GMC say it's a module for the radio that a third party manufactures for GMC that is bad . They take no responsibility.. Problem is GMC says they have no parts and it is on back order for over a month. I have had no sound for over 2 months . It is amazing that GMC has e that don't work. Communication with both the dealership and GMC sucks and between them they can't even seem to get on the same page. Both parties say how sorry they are this is happening and I am tired of hearing that BS. If it isn'
t fixed the 3rd. time it's then lemon law time. I run my business out of my truck and have no way to utilize the phone or other entertainment center features. $66,000 wasted . I should have stuck to Ram...

The lemon laws/related laws will vary depending on where you live, things like what goes wrong, how many times they've tried ot fix it, the time frame since purchase and more all vary with jurisdiction. Find out what it is, for where you live (and/or perhaps where you bought the truck).

My son just bought a 2023 GMC Denali Duramax with 17 miles on it that was delivered to the dealership two days ago.....he test drove it, radio worked. Drove it off the lot to drive over 3 hours home and no radio or display. NOTHING. Needless to say he is hot. BRAND SPANKING NEW. Dealership was closed but he caught the sales guy leaving and they tried for 25 min to get it working and NOTHING. SO WHAT DOES HE NEED TO DO???? Any advice??? If he didn't live so far away I would've told him to get his trade back and rip up the deal unless the truck was in working condition.

...during the day when they are open...

Story also sounds a bit sketchy, as after buying the truck, starting it up to leave, and the radio doesn't come on, why would he still drive off instead of walking back into the dealership.

As well, situations like this is EXACTLY what the warranty is for.

There are dead spots for Siriusxm throughout the country. When I was frequently driving from Florida to Michigan I always lost the signal on a section of I-40. Locally now, I lose signal in downtown Mt Clemens. It needs direct line of sight just like direct TV.

I'm sorry you don't understand that GM, like every other auto manufacturer, doesn't make all the parts that are in their vehicles. And that sometimes, parts can be sold out and can't be immediately sourced from the original manufacturer.

just bought 2023 Sierra 1 month ago and this happens every other time I start my truck.
I am a previous Delphi Electronics electrical engineer. I worked in all the radios, dvd players, etc.
this is a SW issue. If it were hardware issue your radio would be smoked or it would not work at all.
This could be simple for them to fix. BUT GM will not spend money on engineering until it is a nation wide issue and they do a recall. It is all about resources and budgeted $$.

I have a new 2023 Silverado purchased in April and the audio is completely gone. I started out trying all the posted solutions, rebooting the radio, updating software, system resets etc. Took it to dealership and they couldn't figure it out and said to bring it back to leave it for the day for testing. In the meantime I figured I had nothing to lose so did a complete factory reset on the infotainment system, but still no audio. Left at the dealership today and they are now saying it's the amplifier. But of course they are on backorder. For now I'll just keep using the Sirius app on my phone with a Bluetooth speaker! The saga continues.

Those having this issue need to take the time to get the truck into the dealership. This way it'll be documented. Who knows, you may end up qualifying for a lemon law buyback. Luckily for me, mine is working fine, even after 4 ota updates the truck has gotten.

Take it back to the dealer for warranty repair, or at least documentation that you're having a problem with it. It is apparently not an uncommon problem that GM has yet to 'fix'.
