3rd brake light seal?

I noticed some condensation or water intrusion in my 3rd brake light when the winter weather set in. I took it off yesterday to dry it out. There is no water in to the cab of the truck, but the seal looks a little beat up and I know these have been sources of problems for people. I was wondering where I could pick up a replacement seal? Is this something the local parts shop would have or could get?

I am not sure you will be able to buy a new seal separately. You might want to look at using some silicone or RTV in conjunction with the original seal. Or look for a replacement light with new seal. Maybe someone else will know of a source for just the seal.

I'm not sure if you can buy it separately or not. But I've made my own before on my 95.

I took the lense off, then put a nice thick bead of silicone rtv on the outer edge of the lense and let it dry.

It then pressed up against the cab and sealed perfectly. I didn't tighten it too tight either. Just enough to gently compress the bead of rtv a little bit. I also put a dab of rtv in the screw hols so they couldn't leak either.

I put a bead of 3M 540 around the edge and haven't had a problem since.
