This is the first summer I have owned the 2500hd, 2003. After winter the MPG went up a few tenths. I just hit 13 flat and I have driven her hard a few times, not worry about flying on th HW either.
It keeps climbing, 13.2 now. I Did install an Airaid MIT only towards the end of winter. That may have helped.

Im getting somewhere between 12 and 16 with mixed driving on my 2013.
Same with my 2014 with a topper. Only mod is a CAI and I'm not seeing a difference in mileage since adding it but I'm in and out of town along with a mixture of hills every day.

**EDIT** Running regular 87 octane 10% ethanol.

I have a 2011 2500hd extended cab long bed with 62,000 miles on it and no performance upgrades. The fuel economy depends a lot on where I fill up. During the fall and winter months I'm in Boise, Idaho (for college.) Unless I hunt down low/no ethanol fuel (generally around $4.25/gal here) my milage city/highway stays between 8 and 12mpg. :( When college is not in session I am back in Ohio and rarely seem to get less than 15 and as much as 20mpg city/highway no matter where I fill up. Drives me nuts. Gas is cheaper back home year round and I get better mpg's..

You are gonna have a hard time matching what i get with your truck.
The 07.5+ 2500hd's got an upgraded ly6 motor with variable valve timing and better flowing l92 heads good for 355hp stock. Then add in a 6l90e trans with 2 overdrive gears and it is a nice setup.
Justin at blackbear performance is an awesome guy to deal with and has been great at tweaking my tune based on my input and lots of datalogging.
He can probably get you better mileage and power but the older combo just doesnt respond like these newer ones do.

Also the key to my mileage is adjusting my speed to what the motor wants.
Sometimes i need to go a little faster to get better mileage. I basically listen to the motor/intake. When it sounds like a quadrajet either speed up or slow down to get it to be as quiet as possible. Thats when it gets peak mileage.

Measuring MPG:
1) Fill tank.
2) Reset odometer
3) Drive truck until tank is almost empty.
4) Go back to the same station (and if you want to be really accurate over time or multiple tanks, use the same pump) and fill the tank.
5) Divide total miles driven by the number of gallons of gas used. That = MPG.

We've discussed before that the DIC only gives general info, and is somewhat variable. Use it to measure trends, but don't rely on it for an absolute number.
Haven't done this method with my truck yet will have to try when I get home. I am always having fun on city streets so I would imagine I will have low numbers doing this. When I get on the HWY I take it nice and easy and stay on cruise control.

Well that is till I see a F-150 that thinks he is hot shit or a little import trying to act tough
That is the only way to check gas mileage.

Had my 2013 2500 just a year now.7k for miles..I am consistent high 12's to very low 13's for mileage. Was up in the mid 15's on a 400 mile trip.Well when i compare the odometer to the overall gallons used on the DIC I am basically at 10 mpg.I know when I tow my 10k trailer I am at 9.0 but at low speeds around town.I can live with the supposed mileage I am getting.Oh BTW I have the 4.10 axles.
