6l80 upgrades.. shift kit? Tune? expensive full build? HELP

Looking to help my 6l80 last longer and perform better for my 2010 Sierra 1500 4wd.

The truck has been regeared to 4.10's from the old 3.08's, installed long tube headers run to y-pipe single muffler with electronic cut out dump, decent sized cam, and tuned.

Now for the transmission. As i said its a 6l80. From what i have read it is good for around 375rwh so i am definately approaching that mark. I am not planning to drag race this truck or not often i should say. It is basically a DD thats got some more power and better sounds.

I have a Circle D 3200 stall converter to install once i pull tranny. I also have 2 trans coolers to replace stock cooler to make sure temps are in check along with new AN supply/return/rad lines and fittings to allow better flow hopefully.

Now comes my confusion. I would like to upgrade the trans without doing a $5000 build. I have read articles claiming that a trans tune will do the same thing a shift kit will do since its a fully electronic clutch to clutch trans. Then i read that a tune can not over come the limitations of flow and pressure like a shift kit can. I know very little about the internal workings of these new electronic trans.

Hopefully someone can point me in the correct direction on the 6l80 upgrades that actually help. I realize that if/when i wanna add more power such as a T/C or S/C i will need a full rebuild. Just trying to avoid spending that huge price tag and time down till i have to.

The 6L80 is capable of far more than 375rwhp. 700rwhp seems to be a better # for how far you can push stock stuff. The single disc TCC might be good to 400 in the stock converter but most people do like me and just blow through them and say oh well. It still locks on low load situations but tends to slip pretty good under wot. It's nothing your going to feel when driving but you are leaving a couple tenths on the table on the drag strip. But none of that matters if your changing converters. I'm currently pushing in the neighborhood of 475rwhp and 550+ lbft tq through a bone dead stock 6L80 and there are more than a few people well over that with a stock trans and better converters. My thoughts and my findings put the 6l80 capable of the 700rwhp as a daily driven unit but if you only race it or get on it every so often 1000 is not completely unheard of. The record for the gen V trucks is a 9.6 in the 1/4 on a stock tranny and the truck makes well over 1300rwhp on a stock 6L80 and an aftermarket converter.
So you have not changed the Torque management % or just deleted it. You have not tuned firmer shifts in the trans? No need to add trans coolers, upgrade the supply return lines, Physical shift kit, or anything else? Your claiming i dont need to do anything other than to install my Circle D torque converter.

I eventually wanna do a t/c and intercooler build but that may be a year away. I want this to be built as a DD incase i need to use it that way with the occasional want to humiliate someone.

My truck is a L83 5.3L direct injection on pump 93* 76mm turbo. I have tuned the trans in multiple different areas. Torque management is different in my truck than it is in your. Deciding when to allow torque reduction will increase trans life. Ask away I'll answer anything I can.
Thanks. From what i am understanding i dont need to do anything other than converter, and a good tune (will get tune done professionally).

The current setup is right around 350rwhp. Wanna do a 76mm turbo (just a cheap VS racing one probably) over the winter if i can find the time. Will probably never take it up over 600rwhp unless i go full build and make it a non DD. AT that point Trans will get sent to circle D for a stage 3 build or something better.

My kit was under 3000$. The expense for your truck will be the fuel system. The direct injection motors are good to about 550rwhp on stock stuff. It's fun to drive except in the snow but oh well.
Mine is a 2010 so no Direct Injection. I was planning on decapping my injectors. I believe the stock injectors are 25lb/hr at the 58psi stock fuel rail pressure. After decapping i should be close to 64lb/hr. Will have to flow test so tune can be adjusted properly but that should be enough fuel for what HP i have planned. If the decapped injectors perform poorly since there is no atomization i will replace em. But may as well try free before spending the cash for new ones.
