I'm looking to upgrade the head unit in my 2011 Silverado, not for sound but for more modern functions. I'd like to replace it with something capable of Apple CarPlay, Sirius XM (which my stock unit already has) and retain my steering wheel controls. Truck is an LT model non Bose. Does anyone have any suggestions for something proven to work? My truck is in like new condition with only 22,000 miles so I'd rather give it some more modern features than buy something new.

There are some options. You could look at crutchfield.com or adcmobile.com just to name a couple.

Thanks for the suggestions. I just emailed ADC Mobil as their products look more OEM than what I saw on Crutchfield. I'm still open to other suggestions if someone else knows of anything proven to work.

Look at the Stinger Heigh10. It has car play, you can mirror your phone to the screen. They put one in my truck as a demo install and I am really happy with it. You will also need to purchase an adapter integration harness to make steering wheel controls, onstar, etc... all work. This replaced the Alpine Restyle X009 Gm2 kit. There are install videos on google and youtube showing the unit.

I ended up ordering a Dynavin GM2007 Pro from ADC mobile. Also ordered their OEM style backup camera. This way I'll have an OEM look with everything. Not the cheapest option out there but way better than a new truck. Ordered on Friday and per tracking it should be here tomorrow. I already have the truck apart so I'm ready to install.

good choice, I worked with Walt when I had my 2011. After install it looks just like factory, which I like.

Nice looking LOW milage truck!

^^^Toby thanks for the compliment on my truck. I've seen your Duramax build thread on here and admire your truck as well.

I installed the Dynavin GM 2007 Pro tonight and everything works just like OEM. It also gave a very noticeable boost in audio quality despite retaining stock speakers. Apple CarPlay is also integrated very well. I'm currently experiencing trouble receiving a GPS signal for Navi but I reached out to Walt and I'm sure we'll get it figured out.

I didn't buy it based on price. I bought it for the factory look which to me is important plus this unit retains all the OEM functions without additional adapters. Also the backup camera reads the OEM Canbus inputs for steering angle to give the OEM style "bendy lines". Also all of the OEM warning chimes and steering wheels controls are retained without additional adapters. I'm fully aware this is not the cheapest option, however I wasn't going for cheap.

That is a nice choice. I like the OEM look as well. I went with an Eonon unit (back when they still offered one that looked OEM) because I did not need XM radio, but did retain steering wheel controls and got what I was mainly after which was the screen for backup camera.

@steelgreenz71 is this product still working out for you? My aux input has stopped working and I figure I may as well upgrade at this point.

The plug-n-play aspect is very appealing. Sure I could get an Alpine or Pioneer, but by the time I bought all the adapters needed to retain factory controls, chimes and xm, it would cost just as much.

An updated review would be great.

For me it works fine. I do not daily drive my truck though so I don’t have a ton of use out of it. The only thing that annoys me is that no matter what radio band you shut it off on it always starts on AM. There may be better options out there but it is nice in that it’s plug and play and retains all factory features without any adapters.
