I have a zone on my truck it rides nice and I actually take if offroad sometimes out into some of the training areas here at Camp Atterbury when I have time.....I love the kit the only problem i have is becasue I tried to reuse my wheels that have about a 4.50 backspacing and because of this It rubs at turn when i pull into my driveway a little fast. I am currently narrowing down some wheels with a 5.25 backspacing to see if this fixes the problem...others have stacked a spacer on top of the lift but I am trying to avoid this option........But again check the offset of your wheels and besides this yes I think this is an awesome lfit

 

The guy told me the same, i have factory 20's right now and he said the wheel would rub against the tie rod and ruin the wheel, and i told him but will the work for a day or two just while i get different wheels but he just said no to everything

 

Sounds like you called a 4wheelparts... cuz they OWN ProComp!!! It is a good kit.. as is the Zone kit.. which is made by BDS as you stated!!!

I think if/when I buy a true lift... it will be either the Zone or FTS!!! Due to quality & options for the $$$

 

It seemed like it but i actually called a shop that was listed as a "authorized dealer" on Zone Offroads website
And the guy made a couple valid points i guess, that since the price is cheaper that you are paying for the quality but he made it seem like the kick is just horrible and started pushing the Procomp kit, which ofcourse is a good kit but its about $700 more and thats no chump change, it can make or brake a budget

 

Lol I think you both are agreeeing that zone is good....yes 4wheelparts will harp on how bad the zone kit is but I like it!

 

But after he told me that it just made me rethink what kit to get and is making me question the Zone lift lol

 

Nothing about the quality is cheap... the Zone is just a little more stripped down basic kit...

BDS makes a more $$$ kit also... but it's the same basic kit with a few more parts/options to make it more complete... skid plate & I forget the rest of the parts (off the top of my head)

Most of the lift kit brands out there are all using the same basic design..

 

So i should be ok with the Zone Kit? Cause the guy made it seem like i was going to be throwing out tie rods and ball joints left and right lol thats what got me nervous

If i have to spend the extra money for the procomp or fabtech then i will if that means it wont wear out my truck as fast

 

Lol u will be throwing out ball joints anyway ur driving a 1500 pick up with 35's lol he meant because if u don't have the right offset on your wheels then it puts an extra load on them

Well the Zone 6" kit is basically a 4" kit with a 2" level added.. so your angles will be pretty close to maxed out...

The ProComp & FTS are true 6" lifts & can be maxed out to 8" or so

 

So the Zone with be maxing everything out pretty much?
Better to go with a Procomp ?

 

It depends on how high you wanna go??? If you will be happy with 6.5"... then fine... if you wanna go higher.. the fts or procomp would be a better option

 

Im fine with just a 6'5" but as the guy ^^^ up there said, if the Zone lift is going to max out all the angles then it seem like it will wear the parts out faster than the Procomp or BDS

Bds is the same as the zone... also a maxed out 4.5" system... as is the RC 7" kit... and this is fine for most people.. as long as you aren't out there hard wheeling... then parts are more apt to break...

I researched all of the kits when I was lift shopping... but ended up with the RC 3.5" kit... as I wanted to be able to return to stock in case I traded the truck in... and all the larger kits required cutting/welding... & are harder to return to stock... but now wish I would have went bigger!!!

And also i hear a lot about regearing to handle bigger tires, i have 3.42 gears i believe, is this good or bad?
