Auto Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert Problems?

My 2024 Silverado 1500 LT has Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Alert, but I have very low volume beep-beep-beep for the collision, the three Red reflective Triangles never come on (reflect off windshield) even when almost in top of another vehicle, and the Following Distance Indicator whether set for 1 bar or 3 bars, the dash indicator only changes to orange when about 2 car-lengths from the vehicle ahead whether going 50 or 80. sorry for the run-on...
There NEVER has been any Emergency braking. Even if I switch lanes right up on the bumper of the car in front. I have a Honda SUV also, and all those items do work. And the Honda will brake hard.
Window sticker shows I should have all these safety features. Never worked since new...
Someone...tell me how these work on your 2024 LT. Thank you.

QR codes are listed for repair part purposes, so they don't need to be listed if an item is standard.

Some RPO codes are not on the QR label because they are included in another RPO code.
Do you have base rpo code for the trim level of your LT?
QR code should definitely show the trim level (1LT, 2FL or 2FT)

For any of those trims 3 rpo codes, standard cruise is included -- so if you know the truck is, say, a 2024 1LT then it must have the cruise control (K34) -- so there is no need to include K34 on the QR code.

Following distance indicator is the similar situation.
It is included as standard on all 2024 1500 Silverado trims, so it doesn't need specific mention on the QR code.
This shows a group of ref only rpo code -- they will be installed as standard, so may not be listed on QR.

On the other hand, Adaptive cruise is available on 1LT, and the QR should list it if installed.

Any dealer, supplied with the trucks vin, should be able to provide you with a build sheet that lists all the codes.

On the top line that lists the rpo code for the trim levels, 1LT version of LT is shown with note 4.

Note 4 show 'Available on Crew Cab C*10*43 and Double Cab C*10753' models.

C means chev
* can be a C or a K, indicating 2wd or 4wd
10 indicates 1500
next * can be 5, 7 or 9, indicating short, standard or long bed size
43 is crew cab, 53 is double cab (03 is reg cab, but isn't available with that trim version)

(another example -- all ZR2's are chew, 4wd, crew cab, short box -- so CK10543)

You can test for ACC (adaptive cruise control) by trying to switch between modes.

Thanks, you are the knowledgeble type person that people need on these forums...people with real answers.

I will have to check this out on my vehicle. Any idea why the Collision Detection feature not lighting the three Red triangles, and when it does give audible, is such muffled beeps it can barely be heard?

The collision detection feature will not activate unless the truck senses the auto in front of you suddenly slowing down and you're not reacting fast enough. Personally, I would not want to try and test it. If you drive reasonably, it should rarely if ever activate.

Did you buy this truck new? Is it possible someone added cruise control after the truck was built?

Go to a dealer and ask them to print you a build sheet. That will definitively tell you how the truck is equipped.

All 2024 LT's have cruise control
For 2024, cruise is optional on work truck, but is standard on all other trims

I have set all the vehicle programable settings to turn it all on. And I have read the Owner's manual.

For only those with this generation and model vehicle, explain to me how your Following Distance operates. Does it slow you down if in Cruise Control? Mine, one bar or three, makes no difference in anything. Doesn't slow the vehicle when coming up on another vehicle when in Cruise.

There are three versions of 2024 LT
2024 1LT can have optional adaptive cruise -- if it also has the optional PCM ( convenience option ll ) added
2024 2FL adaptive cruise is not available
2024v2LT (LT trail boss) can have optional adaptive cruise added -- if it has the PCM added

If you do not have adaptive cruise, it will still have the following gap indicator.

Gap indicator ( GM calls it rpo code UE4 - Following distance Indicator) is now standard on all trims, and has been a feature on some trims several years before adaptive cruise became available.

Trucks that have adaptive cruise also have regular cruise.
Either can be selected.

If it has adaptive cruise, it will slow down to 'pace the vehicle ahead'
If the vehicle ahead speeds up, it will speed up too -- until it reaches the speed the adaptive cruise was set at

Adaptive cruise sets the 'time' behind the vehicle ahead, so the distance behind depends on the travel speeds.

If a vehicle passes and you change lanes so you are closely behind it (closer than the set following time, but it is still going faster than you are) then the 'time' between the vehicles can be less than the setting -- because it realizes the gap is increasing. If the gap between the vehicles is not increasing, then it will slow until the set gap time is achieved.

Sometime adaptive cruise disables itself if the camera cannot see because it is 'blinded' by running towards bright light (like sun near the horizon OR because of debris on the windshield ahead of the camera)

I used one of the QR Code Reader apps on my phone to get the RPO's, but it seems not to give all of them. I don't know if it even gives the correct ones.
Anyone out there that has a sure-fire way (that they HAVE used) to get the RPO's, since GM won't include them in the vehicle any longer??
