Hi all....new here. I just purchased a used 2014 GMC Sierra SLT Z71. Black over black leather. My first upgrade/mod was to remove the factory Rancho shocks and put on a set of Bilstien 5100's all around. The shop put the rears on with the bellows up. I had them flip them to bellows down. Good call? Is this correct?

Thanks,
Scott

The oem ranchos in their best form will be beat by a set of 5100s. I dont know why they would but such a crappy shock on the z71 package.
The OEM Ranchos are not made to Rancho spec, but to GM specs. And because so many people were using Rancho RS5000 with the "cool red boot", Gm figured selling a truck with their shocks from the factory would help, and it did. But they screwed both themselves and Rancho by making them a shitty shock, so people want them out as soon as they can, unless they drive total stock on pavement only. That's what I did for the first 5 years, and never had a problem..

Then I wanted to replace them, I went some website about Silverados and Sierras to ask a question, and I've never been more broke...lol
