I have a 2013 Silverado and my CEL just came on. I have just above 60,000 miles. I went to get it scanned and I got P219B and P0300. I was thinking maybe it was a bad batch of gas because my and my wife went to get some gas earlier and saw there was a 1 ton truck with a tank on the back pumping something out of the gas covers on the ground. At the time I joked that they might have had some bad gas but It seems that it may be true. I didnt notice the truck pumping out until I got to 3/4 of a tank and I stopped when I saw it. Can anyone help me out with this? It doesnt sputter when driving but if im going at slow speeds or coasting it does jerk some. I also heard 2 misfires as I was coming to a stop sign but the CEL didnt blink.

I'm going to contact the store tomorrow and ask about the guy sucking something out of the gas tanks. I pride myself on getting gas from name brand stations. Basically any station that has a refinery tied into it like valero, shell, exxon and what not. This was a shell station and my wife is bashing me because I always tell her not to get walmart gas lol

GM recommends Top Tier Stations: http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers/

It just so happens that Shell is on the list. However, that just means that those stations adhere to gas with a certain list and amount of additives that are above the federal standard. It does not guarantee that impurities or other contaminates won't be in the gas. Once it is delivered, they have no control if water is getting into it or some other contaminate.

Now that you mention it, your right. It wouldn't hurt anything to continue running the tank down right? I drove like 20 miles since filling up to 3/4 and I'm right above 1/2 tank lol. I'm thinking I might just dilute it but I want to see if anyone else reported anything at that station.

Probably as good as anything. Just make sure it is made to help get rid of moisture in the fuel. Oh, and I would put it in the gas instead of doing that intake thing. lol.

Yah, you know, Lucas would still sell a ton of that stuff even if it didn't do a thing to help the engine. All they would have to do is advertise the smoke show and guarantee it wouldn't harm the engine. I think that is the biggest draw for using the stuff is the smoke show for a lot of people.

I juse left the store and the clerk was telling me deq and inspectors were there friday. Maybe they found something and made them pump it out? Well turns out someone else called friday and said they had bad gas also so I'm not alone. I will call the manager tomorrow during regular business hours. My cold start was horrible, bounced and jerked all over the place. I added the seafoam and now after driving it's smooth. I know it was a short instance but what damage could have been done? 19 mpg at 50 mph, I guess it's not burning like crazy anymore

It was probably water in the gas or some other impurity. I wouldn't worry about it too much, if you have it running OK now. If not, I would consider siphoning out what is in there and then refilling with known good gas. If you notice problems even after refilling, or over the next couple weeks, then I would be back there demanding they pay to get the truck back to normal running condition. And it is a good idea to call right away to let them know about your problem just in case there are lasting effects. That way you are on record.

I finally made it to the dealership to get it looked at. The bad gas already made its way out of the tank but the sensor was reading 80% alcohol content. The mechanic told me it's not supposed to be over 15%. He said the computer started compensating for the amount of alcohol by dumping gas and it was running real rich. Which explains the call I got from my coworker about black smoke from my exhaust. He reset it and it went to 3% and he is driving it now to make sure that it doesn't act up again.
