Seems the problem came up when buying a used transfer case and not checking electrical harness .
So have 2000 GMC 2500 HD 4x4 4L80 auto with 6.0 NV 243 case
Transfer case is off 2005 4L80 with 6.0
Now the problem is the wiring for the 2000 uses 2 plugs one 4 wire / one 6 wire
2005 uses 8 wire single plug -
2000 case has actuator stub from case with 2 flat sides / 2005 has a splined actuator
How do I rectify my mistake and get later transfer case mated to early electrical harness plugs .
Seems others must have also run into problem - I know i could disassemble case and change the actuator rod but there has to be a simpler method .
Now it seems the clutch pack is out in my NV243 and to replace it local place says they will only rebuild full case - not just set clutch pack . $1500 seems a little out for a truck that has just about rusted into scrap but still only has 90,000 miles on it
