I figured I would try some of the Lucas injector cleaner and filled up the truck and poured some in. About 20-30 miles later the check engine light comes on. I havent had the code pulled yet, but my buddy said stuff like thats not good for the motor. Well why do they sell it then? Any thoughts? Trucks only got 60k miles on it so shouldnt have any major issues.

Despite my not liking Lucas products, I did not see anything in the MSDS of the couple of Lucas Fuel System cleaners I looked at that would cause the Check Engine Light to come on.

It is likely coincidence that the light came on after you added it to your fuel tank. However, check to make sure that your gas cap is properly reinstalled as that can cause a check engine light.

Make sure you hook a code reader up and see what code or codes have been set that is causing the Check Engine Light to be illuminated.

Good Luck!
