I noticed that Chevy now sells a 2" lift. Of course they advertise that it's rigorously tested by Chevy. I'm sure that's part of the marketing. However, the one peace of mind you get is that you won't have to worry about any warranty issues, if I have a suspension issue. Has anyone purchased and had it installed or done it themselves? Is it worth the extra money? It is a little pricey for just a 2" lift. I love the look of the Trail Boss, but would need to go with the LT Trail Boss though. However, I really wouldn't need the 4WD either as I wouldn't be doing much off-roading. Which is why the RST and just adding the 2" lift seems like a better option. I would then add some black wheels. I love that blacked out look of a black Trail Boss. Thanks.
They have been selling that kit for years. I had it put on my brand new 2022 GMC 1500 before I took delivery in Jan 2022. It's been available since like 2020. The parts in that kit are 100% the same parts used on the AT4/TB. Just last week I took the front struts/springs and rear shocks off and replaced them with a Cognito kit with Fox 2.0 front coilovers ,2.0 shocks rear with the new UCAs. The ride was really good with the GM kit but this Cognito kit is amazing on and off road. I left the GM 2 inch block on the rear. I'm selling the old struts/springs, rear shocks and UCAs. They still look new and only have 22k on them. Little off road at all. Black wheels: With Cognito kit. OE wheels: before with GM 2 inch lift.

Any updates on the Cognito 3" lift ? Also did this lift level the front as well? I was told at the dealer the OEM 2" lift does not level the truck I have a 2023 Elevation with 3.0L Duramax 4WD
I'm torn between the OEM 2" lift and the Cognito 3" lift. I live in Florida and do allot of highway driving. Turck is used for 0 off road use. I was the BEST riding lift kit, on a $60k truck I don't care if the difference is a extra thousand dollars.

I live in south Florida, recently ordered and installed Fox coil overs and rear shocks for $1100 from tirerack for my 2021 elevation with 3.0 Duramax. It’s been about 6 months and 7k miles. They’re amazing. Gained just over 4 inches in the front on the stock Fox setting (did go up a tire size to 275/65/20 from OEM 275/60/20.

Only negative is my MPG went from 31 to 26 but it looks and drives way better in my opinion. It rolls through puddles easily when floods happen… before the front would hit the puddle and the truck would nose dive

If you want the best riding kit, I would honestly skip the GM kit and look at:
Bilstein 5100's - $700 ish
Fox 2.0's - $1000 ish
Eibach Stg2 or stg2r - $1,200-$1,400 ish

Nothing wrong with the GM kit except it's still running crappy struts. If you are going to spend the money, id advise making it a worthwhile endeavor. Those GM extended CV's are nice, not needed, but a nice add if you wanted those too, now or later.

Thanks for the replies, that white GMC looks great!
Most of these kits are geared towards off roading. I just didn't want to stiffen up the suspension for something that's going to do 100% pavement driving.
My last truck 2021 Dodge Ram I went with Maxtrax 4" spindle lift and it rode great on the pavement.,
Biggest thing I've learned over lifting and leveling trucks over the years I try not to get into Load E and Load F tires now for a 1/2 ton truck. Last lifted truck I had 4 sets of wheels on it before I found the ride and look I wanted

You can’t go wrong with any of the kits. I think the biggest thing is the OEM springs up front are so weak and small compared to the springs that come on aftermarket coil overs.

i love the Eibach springs that came on my Fox coil overs, they stiffened the front end up a lot and then the shock handles bumps incredibly.

Read the reviews. Bilstein is probably a little stiffer than Eibach/Fox I’ve heard which is perfect if you drive faster than most people. I can attest that the Fox’s make the ride so smooth and are still a lot more stiff then stock.

Handling/higher speed offroad get icon/bilstein

technical offroad, ride quality, fox and king

eibach is reportedly in the middle.

That said, between all those brands, you'll see $500 and $10,000 options hehe

I appreciate your patience to clarify, I have a 21 z71 lt with the 3.0 and I’m wanting to add some more clearance at best value investment. Did you order longer shocks/struts specifically or as same size replacements and because they’re that much better they offer that much greater lift?
were there any other mods needed? Alignment done again I imagine?
I found this thread cause I’m tempted to do the GM trail boss lift for warranty ease (they don’t have to call for the extended with me) but if I can give myself a few inches by just buying better shocks and struts I’d rather do this anyway.
thank you again for your help and time.

Cheapest option would be spacers but it’s not really recommended.

I think the vast majority here would agree with Bilstein as the best budget brand that is still great quality.

this option would be a little cheaper because the shop would utilize your stock springs. And then the rear lift blocks to lift the rear.

This will be around $650 plus installation. And you would get 2.5” in the front and 2” in the back and a lot better ride then stock.

Also you could find some tire take offs on OfferUp from new 2500/3500 sierras that wanted to go bigger tires right away. They are 34” compared to our oem size is 33”.

These are just the cheapest options like you asked for… should have no problems with this kit.

If your still looking, i just got the Vertex 2.5 coilovers and I plan on getting them put on later this week. I can follow up and let you know how they are. I've read all great reviews on these. I am 99% highway driving as well.

Good info and this might be a dumb question but of these options which is considered the best blend of on and offroad?

no prob.

im a bilstein fan, but lots of people aren't hard enough for them. lmao
The day I trade my Fox’s for Bilstein is the day I’ll trade my wife in for a husband.

Lmao JK!

All jokes aside, the Eibach springs on the Fox coil overs stiffened up the front a lot. Almost no body roll when I turn compared to OEM which had a lot. I’ve had a truck bed full of rock, 1000-2000 pounds probably? The truck felt planted and great.
