"cooled seats"

I have a 2014 Silverado ltz with black perforated heated/cooled seats. When I bought the truck in December the seats cooled great even on 80 degree Texas days. The seats seemed to work great thru May of this year and could definitely notice the cooling effect. Now that is 105 down here in the shade these cooled seats don't seem to be working at all. Not even on days when its 80. I took it to the dealership and had them look at it and they said they were working normally it must be the type of clothing that I am wearing (What BS). I told him I wear Uniform work shorts that are exactly the same and it is not cooling. I got in it and drove it from the dealer and didn't notice any cooling at all. My friends Ford F-150 seats cool great, even in the Texas heat. Are the Chevy cooled seats just using cool air from underneath the seat and circulating it thru the seat (This is what the dealer told me) or is there actually a cooling element in the seat? I'm a little frustrated with this as I have already had it to the Dealership with no help.

I believe they work by pulling air through the seat coushin and pushing it out the vents in the back of the seat. (Thats how my d@dge worked anyway).

That said, mine stopped working correctly, and I got it replaced under warranty.

I'm from Florida w a 2012 Denali and have noticed that the seats take quite a bit of time to cool off in the four months or so I have owned it. I figured that it was a mix of clothing, the fact that I am hot and black leather is hot. But it does take a long time to cool in the summer months. I always thought they used the HVAC system to cool the seat but now that I think about it, if the interior air is hot it takes the seats forever to cool. So it's probably just a fan blowing interior air through the seat cushions. Kind of a bummer since the only two reasons I got the Denali was for the seats an the 6.2

I think they have to be using a heat transfer system of some sort. That port at the back of the seat is blowing some pretty hot air. I have a 2015 Denali and the cooled seats work but are slow. I rented a Ford SHO with cooled seats a while back and I do not know how they are doing it but that thing cools off quickly and deep.

The seats in my truck are subtle and not so deep cooling but it is there. Just enough to take the edge off on a longer drive.

The ones on my '13 2500HD do pull air from behind the seat. There must be a cooling unit. I can tell you that it is not quick.

I did test drive a '12 F-150 a while back, and those seats blew more air and were cooler. I believe they actually have a vent from the HVAC system, so that helps.
