Hey all, Im playing with the idea of getting the deaver mini pack, but i have a couple of questions.

2011 silverardo with camburg mid travel/leveling kit 4wd and fox 2.0 rear

1) will it retain factory height? It says 2" lift, but i noticed I have stock blocks on my truck, if i remove those will it retain the stock height?

2) how hard was it to install/would you recommend installing it yourself?

3) how much more did the mini pack inprove the ride on and off road?

4) does it really really kill your towing/weight in the truck that much? im talking 300-400 poinds in the bed?

I guess my question is, for $500 installed or $330 installed myself are they really worth it? my stock leafs are so stiff and i feel like it almost defeats the purpose of my SAW coil overs.

Pics are always good if you have the mini pack J1 installed on your truck....thanks!

for the money, i would just save a bit more and get the full leaf springs. Deaver is a good company, but they wont help ride at all. it will make it firmer and i assume you have the 1.75" rear blocks, so you may gain a tiny bit of lift..

you can install them yourself, you should get new U-bolts and Center pins (if the kit doesnt come with them)..bolt them to the spring pack

between the axle and spring ( i say that because someone a while back put a lift block on top of the springs and couldnt figure out why they didnt get any lift)

I put in Deaver mini packs about two years ago on my 2012 4x2 1500 Sierra and added Fox 2.5 shocks. It made a huge difference in ride quality plus it retains good load handling. I only haul 500 pounds max anyway and it drops about 1" or at least less than 2" when I do. The mini pack adds to the stock leafs curvature to give about 1" of lift and then they supply a 1" lift block I believe. I got them to send it without the 1" lift block and with the correct U-bolts. 1" lift in the back leveled my truck perfectly with the 3" lift from a Fox 2.5 coilover and Camberg upper arm I installed in the front.

The truck takes the bumps way better now and actually tracks straight when hitting studder bumps and pot holes on the logging roads I drive on. It almost never engages the stability control now where as stock it always side hopped the rear end.
