Lew has been working on my custom tune for a bit now, and let me tell you...its Awesome  . Absolutely worth every penny. It feels like a completely different truck!! Lew has the best customer service Ive ever experienced. I sent him my first data log at 11:00 on a Sunday night... He had my custom tune sent back to me in 15 min!! Same experience on the second round of fine tuning, Sent him my data and had a tune in my Inbox within 10 min.
I was wondering if anyone has ever done a before and after Dyno testing with one of Lews tunes? Im expecting it to be a pretty significant difference, but I havent been able to find a forum with any real number so far for the 5.3...

Like you, I have the same question. My setup is somewhat similar:
1. diablew 92 octane tune
2. Airaid Jr with synthetic filter
3. Stock exhaust piping with Borla GM Performance Touring Muffler.

I contacted a local place to get a dyno appointment and hope to have it done early next week. I can't do the 'before mods' run but plan to use some of the stock dyno numbers on the web and take an average, best I can do on that. In short, I want to see what the few dollars I dropped on mods did to the engine.

Originally I figured I would put on these mods and the truck will "feel" right when I drive, but it still seems slow. I really like everything else about this truck aside from its acceleration and what I perceive as a slight bogging down on inclines. This opinion may be due to my prior vehicles being more performance oriented, perhaps I am just spoiled. I went back and forth between the 5.3L and the 6.2L and decided on the 5.3L due to the better fuel economy. In mostly stop and go driving with my mods, I get 16-17 which is pretty good. The economy and the fire sale my local dealership had in May of 2013 sold me on the truck, they were practically giving them away to make room for the new 14's.

The decision to dyno is in order to figure out what I really have and if I should continue to mod or just forget it. I was considering doing long tube headers next but I am still trying to determine if ~$2,000 for headers and install is worth the power gains. I probably 'could' install myself but I just do not have the time. Further, I would also like to upgrade to some 285's from the 265's I have now, but I am afraid that will diminish performance further.

Again, great truck, just needs more get up and go...

I have been running 285's for a while now with just a 87 octane tune. It does real good. And pulling a camper. I would be interested in a dyno results also. When i went from 265's to 285's there was only a slight difference but not much to me in performance. If it's worth the money i would be interested.

I'm running a 93 custom lew tune with an intake, and muffler swap. It is honestly nigh and day from the canned tune. I've got a 0-60 timer that I use for my car, I decided to try it on the truck today. I did a few runs with the best being 6.1! That's pretty damn good for a truck with little done to it in my book.
I'm looking into running a 4 inch rancho lift with some 34s here shortly.. I've got no doubt that it will do fine pulling my camper.

I keep flipping between going to a shop and getting a custom tune done locally... or getting a Diablo Trinity and then a custom tune through Lew. My main selling point is being able to go back to factory tune. Which is what the Diablo allows, correct? My Local tune guy said he couldnt guarantee that.

I'm not sure how the trinity works. I have the intune, but yes, it allows you to switch around. It seems kind of pointless to me though, being that the ecu takes about 200 miles to learn a new tune..

Also subbed for results. I've been kicking around a custom tune as well. Been running the high octane canned tune but plan to bump up a few tire sizes and thinking that would be the time to custom tune.

Trying to get the truck into Performance Autosport in Richmond. We have been emailing back and forth and there were supposed to be openings in their schedule late this week. I inquired about Wed or Thursday and have not heard back yet.
Those guys up there are good to go. My truck has been on their dyno twice. I have found it's easier to just call, it's a busy shop.

Got an email from the performance shop this evening. They had an issue with their dyno and are behind on all their appointments, that is why I did not hear back from them until now. Looks like I am going to have to wait until next week or the week after. They have a good reputation from what I understand so while I am bumed that I must wait, I will be patient and post again as soon as I can get in there. Not sure why scheduling is not more concrete, but it is what it is.
