all tow/haul mode does is tell the tranny to use different shift settings - shift pressure, shift points, etc.. and yes, those are changed in the preset diablosport tunes already, as well as when I do a custom tune...

no need for separate tunes, as has been mentioned/discussed in another thread in the 5.3 engine section... GM doesn't have/give separate tunes for the weather, right?? ;)

the only need for separate custom tunes would be if you wanted one for 87 octane gas, and one for 91+ octane gas.. the only difference between them would be the amount of timing/spark advance...

Gotcha.
Thought I read someone had a totally different tune when in tow mode...must have read it wrong.
I'm going to hit you up soon Lew, thanks!

I want to check into this thread also. I bought an InTune earlier this year. Using the 87 can tune with DOD off. To be honest I really can't tell any difference. I'm going to try and Micky mouse with it tonight. May have to get in touch with you soon Lew.

^That's pretty much the set up I was running except I went for the fitm shifts as well.

I know for sure there was a noticeable difference between the can tunes and the custom. I did notice a difference even just with the can tunes. ....

I know Lew can probably steer you in the right direction

Ive been thinking about getting a tune also lately. Need to get a price for it , new to the tuner thing....

Lew (06MonteSS) will chime in here soon, if not maybe send him a PM and I'm sure he'll hook you up!

I contacted Lew through PM and answered the questions I had pretty quickly. Hope within the next month or so I'll be able to order my intune.

His customer service is top notch! I've had all kinds of questions since I started tuning my 2013, and Lew has always answered everything really quickly.

I'm an old guy so I've been a pain in the a$$ I'm sure, but he still puts up with me!

Same here  I'm a old guy that is new to all this also,Lew will work with you and make it happen ;)

I sell the inTune and I also offer a package deal that includes my custom tuning at a reduced cost so you'd save some $$. ;)

You can find info about it, as well as links to my Package Deals, Testimonials, etc. on my site here: http://www.diablewtune.com and http://www.diablewtune.com/package_deals.html

With the custom tune, you'll gain even better/quicker throttle response & acceleration, stronger/harder pull, smoother & quicker power delivery throughout the rpms, etc...

As far as gains go... absolute hp/tq gains are hard to predict... every vehicle is different... even if they're the same and have similar mods... location/weather, fuel used, elevation/altitude, etc etc all play a role... the same holds true for mileage gains - those variables, plus driving habits/style, how much highway vs city driving, etc all make a difference.... you could gain no mpg increase, or you could gain up to about 3 mpg increase... tough to say due to the variables in play... so there is no guarantee of any specific amount of hp/tq or mileage gains...

with the custom tune, I CAN tell you that you will definitely have a very noticeable performance difference/gain over and above the canned preset diablo tunes...

I have gained people anywhere from 12-39hp, and 10-23lb. ft. torque...and 0 to 2 mpg... again, obviously mods, fuel used, etc all played a role in who gained what...

you can email me directly at diablo DOT help AT gmail DOT com...

Thanks for asking, I appreciate it!

X10.

Ordered my inTune today. Can't wait for it to show up.

Thanks Lew!

No problem man, you're welcome... and Thank You!! Much appreciated!! ;)

Got mine and did all the updates but have not put it to the truck, Momma is driving it this week while her Bettle is getting some love. This weekend, let the fun begin.

Why wait? Let Momma enjoy the truck.

HAHAHAHA!!! RED ONE!! *punch* lol

I gotta stop coming here. I've already PM'd Lew with questions which he answered quickly. Now I'm just waiting for a payment to come in so I can order the Intune. Being in Canada, it's easier to order it locally, but I do plan on getting a custom tune. But coming in here is torture till I can order it, lol.

I'll tell you for sure, the intune works wonders on it's own, but when you get a custom tune your truck will be a completely different beast.

Mine is like a hot rod now, and that's just with an 87 tune!
