Hello everybody,
I'm a pretty active user on instagram and one thing that's struck me as funny are all these people who shorten the word Duramax, to Dmax. Now I know you're thinking people are just shortening Dura, but does Duramax really need to be shortened? Is it that hard to say Dura that you need to take it out, and call it a Dmax? If you're not a truck guy, or a diesel guy, fine I'll let you slide with using Dmax. My issue comes with the majority of people who say Dmax, are Duramax owners!

I'm about to open school for all of you.

A CHEVROLET DMAX is more or less, an export model of the Colorado/canyon.

That certainly doesn't look like a Silverado to me! and the only diesel model they offer, is an inline 4, NOT a Duramax. It is a joint venture between GM and Izuzu, some places its an Izuzu Dmax, sometimes its a Chevrolet Dmax, either way a Duramax and a Dmax are NOT THE SAME TRUCK.

Please if you see someone calling their DURAMAX a Dmax, please take their keys away from them, until they learn what they're actually driving.

Too funny,

A pet peeve of mine is the term loser. It would seem that many losers can not spell the word loser. They tend to spell it "Looser".

I see this SO much on Facebook. Is this just a slang spelling of it? Am I just too old to understand? :)

So when one of my kids are goofing around I call them a "Looser" and they just chuckle :)

I mostly posted this for laughs. But also to let people know of the Dmax's existence. I didn't know about it either until I looked up off road bumpers and someone at work sent me a link for a bumper for a dmax. Little more research and I found its a totally different vehicle.

I think calling trucks by their engine is kind of silly anyway.

Guys say they drive a duramax or drive a cummins. (Most are too ashamed to say they drive a power stroke haha).

But is it a 2500, 3500, single rear wheel, dual rear wheel?

It would be like me saying I drive a 5.3l.

Technically they drive either a Chevy, Dodge, or Ford, and the engine is just the engine.

Guess it is along the line of why I just say diesel instead of turbo diesel. After all, there is not a diesel in a vehicle today that isn't turbocharged, so it seems stupid to run around saying turbo diesel as if that is something different than the other diesels in vehicles. I don't even say Duramax, Dmax, Cummins, Powerstroke, PStroke, Detroit diesel, or whatever. I just say diesel. What is really funny is when someone calls Cummins a Cummings. That always gets me to smile. When I had my 2006 Jeep Liberty CRD, I just said it had a diesel. I did not feel the need to say it had a VM Motori Turbo Diesel, even though that is what it was. I think this whole fascination with what folks call stuff has more to do with social statements and such more than anything else.
