Don't care for it, on another site it has generated piss poor if not bad advice on several postings.

Hell at one place you get your hand slapped for any TTT posting yet this was desgined in part to do just that.
Perhaps instead of an "ignore" for the bot it should be asked upon sign in if you want to see bot postings thus making sure 100% everyone knows it's happening. If not I agree some sort of warning label besides community assistant is needed to definitively identify the post as non human. Make it first line of the posting not the bottom as not to be missed.

I really enjoy browsing forums but a bunch of bot generated postings is a reason to just not visit as often, why bother...

We understand that some of you may have concerns about the use of AI-generated responses in our forums. We’re approaching this as an experimental feature.

We've noticed some threads, especially ones by newer users or involving niche topics, sometimes go unanswered under “What's New” > “Looking for Replies,” and we're looking at ways to kickstart more lively discussion in them.

The goal is to provide quick, helpful information in areas where it makes sense, not to replace expert advice or real discussion. AI won’t always get it right, and we know that. But with continued use, review, and tuning, its accuracy and usefulness will improve over time.

That said, human input still matters most. If you ever see AI responses that are incorrect, misleading, or just not helpful, please keep posting your own advice and insights. You help keep the quality of our community strong.

In the meantime, keep an eye out for your new Community Assistant, @ForaFrank! No need to report his posts — he's here to help, and we're keeping a close eye on how he performs.

Thanks for being part of this process as we test and learn together.

80% Of Gen Zers Would Marry An AI: Study

We do have some Gen Z members here and at least one of them may fall in love and want to marry one of these AI creations. Are the admins ready for that situation and what will happen?

First, I'm sure you've noticed that I've already been very vocal about this and will continue to be. NO AI is going to kickstart a discussion simply be answering. That's total bullshit. Did you ever stop to think that perhaps nobody on the forum knows the answer, or the question is so freaking stupid that it's not worthy of an answer? This is not Facebook, but you're sure trying like hell to replicate it's MO.

The goal is to provide quick, helpful information in areas where it makes sense, not to replace expert advice or real discussion.

It's not providing any " quick helpful information" that, regardless of the topic, everybody including the OP doesn't already know the obvious answer......And what exactly is the "quick helpful information" intended to do?
It's very obvious to me that you've never really taken an in-depth review of this particular forum, and I sense that you don't do it with any other either. We have the smarts on this forum to know that, for instance, if there's a transmission issue, for example to refer the OP to @NickTransmissions; if there's a tuning issue to refer the OP to @06MonteSS. Some of us spend a lot of time on the forum, but most of us have "real lives." It could take days for the correct person to respond. Nothing here is an emergency. Another Forum to which I belong, (Firebird Nation,) there are 2 resident experts. Sometimes those two give responses as if they were Tolstoy writing War and Peace, but they might not respond for 72 hours or more. AI ain't gonna help fix that, and the 'adults in the room' already know that.

That said, human input still matters most. If you ever see AI responses that are incorrect, misleading, or just not helpful,

No shit.....but in this case, your AI id basically forcing us to read thru the information that may be misleading, incorrect or not helpful, and WTH should we have to do that to get to the meat of the matter.

I'd be more than happy to pay $5.00 a month to get rid of the stupid shit you feel is useful. There is a treasure trove of information already on the site from the membership. We don't need, nor do we want AI.......and I'll say it once again.....Just because the technology is available, doesn't mean it's useful or adds value.

Roorancher what is with your responses inside the quote and why the colors? Hard to read and yes I know I'm old.

I see you said you would pay $5 a month to get rid of the bots. I would not pay a dime for anything on this forum, no bots, no ads, "special section" or whatever. Don't give them any ideas on trying to charge for something else :ROFLMAO:

As Admins/Moderators, we are not to do anything with these posts. We cannot ban or delete.
...and i banned them on the other sites i use.
nobody likes them

Poor Frank nobody likes him :(

It sounds like to me they are trying to get more users and keep them with this dumb bot crap. They think if someone posts something and nobody answers it will scare them off, BUT if we have a bot answer them they will feel wanted and cherished. This could work on Gen Z but for us older (and some downright ancient) people we don't like talking to robots. This site gets plenty of traffic so it isn't like it is dead and needs bots to stimulate conversations.

Just threw up in my mouth a little.

I've been off the grid for awhile, trying to catch up on what's been going on, seems I missed a lot.
@roorancher, you have a way with words that makes me envious. Like I've said once before, I want to be like you when I grow up.
And @SierraHarley , liked your idea if we could start a fight with it, maybe it would go away.

Just popped over to your owned HD site.
Didn't bother using my old log-in. But did not see a similar AI announcement.

Thought Silverado/Sierra owners would be easier to work the kinks out on?

In regards to AI being released into the wild. People far, FAR smarter then I have said. We, the U.S. have no choice but to continue it's development. Or be left behind.
My .02? I'm glad I'm old.

If you doubt those who are Neigh Sayers to the dangers of AI.
Remember. The car will never replace the horse. Man will never fly. We will never land on the moon. etc. etc. etc.

@bk2life you screwed yourself by opening your mouth.

I don't understand why Admin thinks this is a good thing and is actually useful. It's not. It's a nuisance.
I'd be willing to bet they don't have the balls, (well, perhaps they don't,) to post a poll and see who really wants it.......

Just sayin'
