Front Fuel Tank Cross Member Disitengrated

Hey everyone, long time since ive posted but my new to me 2008 silverado 1500 LTZ needed a new fuel pump. when the shop dropped the fuel tank they discovered that the frame cross member that the front of the tank attaches to is practically gone and separated from the frame rails. (see pics below)
every other part of the frame is solid besides some surface rust

does anyone know if they make replacement cross member for this? also working on finding a collision shop that can do the cutting and welding for it in northeast ohio around cleveland.

additionally, does anyone know if this cross member is actually structural for the frame itself?

I would think it is mostly for the fuel tank.

I know Pull A Part Cleveland and Akron have a number of this year's trucks. They only keep them in the yard for 30 days or so.

i ended up having my mechanic who used to do body work take a look at it, after knocking off the loose rust and cutting away the rotten metal, he found that the entire top of the cross member including the mounting point for the gas tank, was still structurally sound. after some heavy sanding and grinding and welding additional support braces everything is good to go

yeah no kidding. all the other major collision centers were saying i would have to do an entire frame swap

Yah, sounds about right. And they wonder why people don't trust auto repair shops.

Holy crap!!!

I'll much rather deal with the stuff sun/heat damage here in Texas than that stuff... Glad you got an easy/cheap fix for it.
