You've got the wrong parts. The struts you have are for the newer body style 2007. Sounds like you have the older body style 2007.

 

Yeah when buying parts for your truck search for a 2006. Since most websites assume all 2007s are the same

If yours is the 07 classic as TooTall mentions it will just be a spring with the shock going up through the middle and not the coilover/strut set up of the 07 NNBS.

classic:

The spring itself will sit down on the lower control arm as opposed to the NNBS coilover/strut set up which has the spring resting on a perch of the shock body itself.

GM had 2 different trucks in 2007, as you are now aware. I would recommend searching for parts for 2006 to ensure you get the right ones. If you had the struts, you could search for an 08. That is what I did when I had my 2007. It prevented a bunch of hassle and all of the parts were interchangable.
